KLM oczywiście wymienia stare samoloty na nowe modele, ale ostatnia runda odnowienia floty rozpoczęła się w 2008 roku. Od tego czasu coraz więcej Embraer 190 i 175 lat wstąpiło floty, zastępując Fokker 50 i 100, a teraz Fokker 70. I tak ostatnie pożegnanie floty Fokker szybko zbliża się do KLM Cityhopper. Data ustalono: 28 października 2017 r. Będzie to świąteczny dzień pełen wdzięczności, w szczególności dla legendarnego Anthony Fokkera (1890-1939) i założonej przez niego firmy.
